“闯黄灯”暂不罚？

今年1月1日起开始施行的交管新规号称中国史上最严的交规，而其中闯黄灯扣6分这一规定引发极大争议，昨日公安部交管局专门下发通知，要求各地交管部门对目前违反黄灯信号的，以教育警示为主，暂不予以处罚。

Drivers who ignore yellow traffic lights will mostly receive warnings and education, and for the time being, they will not be penalized, the Ministry of Public Security announced Sunday.

公安部周日宣布对闯黄灯的驾驶员将主要进行警示教育，暂时不予处罚。

To ignore yellow traffic lights就是“闯黄灯”，更常见的说法是to run yellow light。元旦起实施的 “史上最严交规（the harshest-ever traffic rules）”规定司机闯红灯和黄灯都要扣6分，很多司机表示闯黄灯扣分的规定违反物理原理（run contrary to the laws of physics），而且很多路口都没有countdown timer（倒数计时器），司机不可能在看到黄灯的几秒内就让车停下来。

交管部门称会进行traffic signal upgrade（交通信号灯升级），同时宣布对闯黄灯的司机以警示教育（warnings and education）为主，暂不处罚。
